Contracts Manager – Drylining & Interior Finishing (Residential & Commercial)

Location

Covering projects across Essex, Hertfordshire, and London. Hybrid setup with regular visits to job sites and the regional office.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to oversee drylining, interior partitioning, and finishing packages across both residential and commercial projects. This pivotal role involves managing contracts end-to-end—from tender and estimation to successful delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Leadership: Manage the full project lifecycle—tendering, negotiating contracts, procurement, scheduling, performance monitoring, and final delivery.

• Project Oversight: Oversee a portfolio of drylining and interior fit-out projects (residential and commercial), ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.

• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, main contractors, and stakeholders; nurture strong, trust-based relationships.

• Subcontractor & Supply Chain Coordination: Appoint and manage approved subcontractors; maintain close control over materials, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

• Financial Control & Reporting: Monitor budgets, issue valuations, assess final accounts, and deliver accurate commercial reporting to senior management.

• Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure work complies with UK construction standards, H&S regulations, and company policies—maintaining high-quality, safe outcomes.

• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with site supervisors, estimators, procurement, and site teams to drive projects forward effectively.

• Continuous Improvement: Implement lessons learned and build efficiencies in delivery processes and project execution.

• Travel & Site Access: Frequent travel across Essex, Hertfordshire, and London to conduct site visits, resolve issues, and maintain oversight.

• Proven Contracts Management experience in drylining, suspended ceilings, partitions, or interior finishing—across both residential and commercial sectors.

• Strong track record managing project delivery across regions—especially within Essex, Hertfordshire, and London .

• Financially astute with experience in cost control, valuation, and budget management.

• Excellent communicator—capable of building rapport with clients, main contractors, and teams on site and in the office.

• Solid understanding of UK building regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practices.

• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

• Full UK driving licence necessary; ability to travel regularly.

• Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent preferred—but demonstrable experience is equally valued.
