The company is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead its estimating function and support the continued growth of its commercial drywall and interior construction operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior estimating professional with extensive commercial drywall experience who can oversee complex bids, develop estimating strategies, and lead a team to deliver accurate, competitive, and profitable proposals.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the estimating function for commercial drywall, metal framing, and interior construction projects.

• Manage the preparation and submission of accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to establish project scope and identify risks.

• Oversee quantity take-offs, labor and material pricing, and subcontractor and supplier quotations.

• Develop estimating strategies, budgets, and pricing structures for projects of varying size and complexity.

• Lead, mentor, and support estimators, promoting consistency and high standards across the team.

• Identify value-engineering opportunities and strategies to improve project profitability.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and contract negotiations.

• Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.

• Monitor market conditions, labor costs, and material pricing to maintain competitive estimates.

• Extensive experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, and interior construction estimating.

• Proven experience in a Chief Estimator, Estimating Manager, or senior estimating leadership position.

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction drawings, specifications, and bid processes.

• Demonstrated ability to lead estimating teams and manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.

• Excellent understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, subcontractor procurement, and project costs.

• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.

• Established knowledge of the New York commercial construction market preferred.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Competitive salary starting at $160,000+, depending on experience.
