Known for its collaborative approach and technical expertise, the business works closely with architects, engineers, general contractors, and ownership teams from early design through project delivery. Their in-house construction and engineering capabilities allow them to provide value engineering, BIM coordination, prefabrication support, and high-level project execution on large-scale commercial and institutional developments.

With continued growth across the DMV market and beyond, they are looking to add an experienced Drywall BIM Coordinator to support ongoing and upcoming projects from their Alexandria office.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drywall BIM Coordinator to join a growing construction and interiors team based in Alexandria. This role will focus on coordinating drywall and interior systems through BIM processes across commercial construction projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, VDC teams, field operations, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate modeling, clash detection, and coordination of drywall systems throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and coordinate drywall BIM models using Revit and related software
• Produce detailed shop drawings, framing layouts, and installation drawings
• Coordinate drywall, ceilings, framing, and specialty systems with MEP and structural trades
• Conduct clash detection and participate in coordination meetings
• Review construction documents and identify discrepancies or coordination issues
• Support field teams with model-based solutions and drawing revisions
• Maintain BIM standards, workflows, and project documentation
• Collaborate with estimators and project managers during preconstruction and construction phases
• Ensure models and drawings align with project schedules and deadlines
• Assist with as-built models and closeout documentation

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in BIM coordination within drywall, interiors, or commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, ceilings, and interior fit-out packages
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within project teams
• Knowledge of US construction standards and practices preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large commercial, healthcare, mission critical, or mixed-use projects
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Understanding of prefab and modular construction methods
• Familiarity with Bluebeam and Procore
