About the Client

My client a leading regional builder in South Carolina, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join their team on a landmark $20M - $100m commercial construction project in the South Carolina area.

About the Role

  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager in the overall coordination and execution of the project, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.

  • Subcontractor Management: Support the Project Manager in coordinating and managing subcontractors, including scheduling, progress monitoring, and resolving issues.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports. Prepare and distribute regular project status updates.

  • Schedule Management: Assist in the development and maintenance of the project schedule, tracking progress and identifying potential delays.

  • Cost Control: Assist in monitoring project costs, processing invoices, and tracking change orders.

  • Quality Control: Assist in ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and company safety regulations.

  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication between the project team, subcontractors, and clients.

  • Material Procurement: Assist in the procurement and tracking of materials and equipment.

  • Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with project requirements.

About the Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management.  

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.  

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.  

  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.

  • A valid drivers License.

  • OSHA 30 hour certification is a plus.
