Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Estimator to support underground utility and electrical projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This position will work closely with both field operations and office leadership to help manage estimating, project coordination, cost tracking, scheduling support, and change order management.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong knowledge of underground electrical infrastructure including duct banks, conduit systems, vaults, manholes, trenching, and excavation work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable assisting with bid preparation, reviewing drawings/specifications, supporting field operations, and helping maintain overall project financial performance.
Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting with underground utility and electrical estimates
• Performing quantity takeoffs and reviewing civil/electrical plans
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
• Assisting with RFIs, submittals, and document control
• Pricing change orders and tracking extra work
• Coordinating with superintendents, foremen, and field teams
• Visiting project sites to verify progress and installed quantities
• Supporting procurement and material tracking
• Reviewing invoices and monitoring project cost exposure
